At the May 9, 2023 meeting of the Eagle River Common Council, Sno-Eagles President Keith Nettesheim presented the Snowmobile Friendly Community award to the City of Eagle River, Town of Lincoln, Town of Cloverland, Town of Washington, and the Eagle River Chamber of Commerce.
The 2023 Snowmobile Friendly Community program was established by the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs (AWSC) to celebrate the organizations and volunteers that are the backbone of snowmobiling. It is used as an advocacy tool to promote the mission statement of AWSC to promote safe and responsible snowmobiling.
Snowmobile Friendly Communities is a partnership between stakeholders – the Sno-Eagles Snowmobile Club and the local municipalities. The award is to recognize working together as a community for the betterment of snowmobiling.
According to Nettesheim, the Sno-Eagles look forward to continuing to work with the local municipalities on our joint efforts to promote economic development by improving the snowmobile trail system.
Snowmobile Friendly Community signs are placed in multiple locations in the Eagle River area.
