Tis almost “the Season”…That makes it Trail Brushing Season in Eagle River! Every October, the Sno-Eagles Snowmobile Club members meet for two Saturday mornings to volunteer their enthusiastic resources, along with brute brawn, to attack/push back/nurture, and marvel at the amazing vegetation that our beautiful woodland trails have created each summer season. This year, the Brushing Volunteers totaled over a whopping seventy people strong. Why, do they take the time to do this, you ask? Well, this is all done for you, for me, and for every tourist that will flock to our gorgeous area over the coming winter season to behold the natural beauty all around us…truly giving a different slant to the term “Snow Birds!” Each volunteer was treated to a hearty and delicious “Thank-you” Lunch afterwards, topped with a fantastic array of homemade desserts.
As Restauranteurs, Bars, and Resort Owners prepare to welcome our winter guests, the Sno-Eagles are busy widening the trails, making the curves safer, and polishing up our signs to help each of us have a safe and more enjoyable ride this winter. In the midst of all of this amazing community teamwork, let’s remember that your trail pass helps the state of Wisconsin fund some of the cost for local trail maintenance. This way we can keep the trails in top shape for you, no matter what Mother Nature throws our way. Remember, trail maintenance is an ongoing process, so you may see some of our members working on closed trails. Lastly, always remember to “Ride Right!” See you on the trails!
