Groom to Ride (formerly Ride with Pride), a major fundraiser for local snowmobile clubs, has been launched. The event is co-sponsored by three area snowmobile clubs – Sno-Eagles of Eagle River, Sno-Buddies of Conover, and Northern Lights Snowmobile Club of Three Lakes.
Track Side of Eagle River has donated a 2020 Ski-Doo MXZ 600ES snowmobile OR a 2020 Can-AM Outlander 570 ATV, as the grand prize in the raffle. Second prize is World Championship Snowmobile Derby tickets for 4 reserved indoor Hot Seats including admission and parking donated by Russ Davis and the owners of the World Championship Derby Complex. Third prize is a guided fishing package for 2 including one day of fishing donated by Jason Pertiles Up North Guide Service, a two-night stay at the Northernaire Resort in Three Lakes donated by the Northernaire Resort Condo Association and dinner for two at Aromas Italian Restaurant donated by Bill and Karen Hren. Fourth prize is a Weatherby 30-06 rifle or a Winchester 12-gauge shotgun.
Raffle tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10 and will be available at local restaurants, bars, resorts, marinas, businesses and at the World Snowmobile Headquarters. The drawing will be held at Track Side in Eagle River on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 12 noon. The winner need not be present.
Having well maintained snowmobile trails is critical to the local economy. Not all snowmobile trails receive state funding, and state funds do not cover all the costs of maintaining the funded trails. The clubs will use funds raised to help maintain area snowmobile trails in world class condition.
This event would not be possible without the dedication and support from Track Side, the World Championship Derby Complex, Jason Pertiles Up North Guide Service, the Northernaire Resort and Condo Association, Aromas Italian Restaurant, and the local businesses that are promoting and selling the raffle tickets. Their support demonstrates their commitment to the Eagle River community.
