Sno-Eagles Donate to Weekend Backpack Program
The Sno-Eagles Snowmobile Club recently presented Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Weekend Backpack Program with a $1,065 donation. The Sno-Eagles have supported this program since 2018. The money is raised from 50/50 raffles at each membership meeting.
The funds will be used to purchase food for elementary students in the Northland Pines, Land O’ Lakes, and Phelps School Districts, and the Head Start PreK program. Backpacks are sent home on Friday with child-friendly, easy-to-prepare food items providing the necessary calories to help eliminate their hunger. What began as help for one child that teachers noticed was hungry on Monday mornings in 2015 provided support to 128 children this last school year.
