Snowmobile Clubs Launch Groom to Ride Fundraiser
Groom to Ride, a major fundraiser for local snowmobile clubs, has been launched. The event is sponsored by Trackside in Eagle River and co-sponsored by four area snowmobile clubs – Sno-Eagles of Eagle River, Sno-Buddies of Conover, Northern Lights Snowmobile Club of Three Lakes, and the Phelps Snowmobile Club.
First prize is a 2024 Ski-Doo MXZ Sport 600 snowmobile donated by Trackside. Second prize is a Chef Luke private filet mignon dinner for four. Third prize is 2025 World Championship Snowmobile Derby tickets for 4 reserved indoor Hot Seats including admission and parking donated by the World Championship Derby Complex. Fourth prize is a 2-night stay at Pike’s Pine Isle Lodge; 1 day snowmobile rental from Stone Harbor Marina; dinner for 2 at SpiritView Lakeside; and dinner for 2 at 32 South Bar and Grill. Fifth prize is a 2-night stay at Bauer’s Dam Resort for 4 plus $100 for use at the resort.
Raffle tickets are $10 each or 3 for $20 and are available at local restaurants, bars, resorts, marinas, businesses, and at the World Snowmobile Headquarters. The drawing will be held at the World Championship Derby Complex on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 5 PM. The winner need not be present.
Having well maintained snowmobile trails is critical to the local economy. Not all snowmobile trails receive state funding, and state funds do not cover all the costs of maintaining the funded trails. The clubs will use funds raised to maintain area snowmobile trails.
This event would not be possible without the support from Track Side, Private Chef Luke, the World Championship Derby Complex, Pike’s Pine Isle Lodge, Stone Harbor Marina, SpiritView Lakeside Restaurant, 32 South Bar and Grill, Bauer’s Dam Resort, and the local businesses that are promoting and selling the raffle tickets.
