The raffle drawing for Groom to Ride, a major fundraiser for local snowmobile clubs, was held on Saturday, April 6th at the World Championship Derby Complex in Eagle River.  The event was sponsored by Trackside of Eagle River and co-sponsored by four area snowmobile clubs – Sno-Eagles of Eagle River, Sno-Buddies of Conover, Northern Lights Snowmobile Club of Three Lakes, and Phelps Snowmobile Club

First prize was a 2024 Ski-Doo MXZ Sport 600 snowmobile donated by Trackside.  Second prize a Chef Luke private filet mignon dinner for four.  Third prize 2025 World Championship Snowmobile Derby tickets for 4 reserved indoor Hot Seats including admission and parking donated by the World Championship Derby Complex.  Fourth prize a 2-night stay at Pike’s Pine Isle Lodge; 1 day snowmobile rental from Stone Harbor Marina; dinner for 2 at SpiritView Lakeside; and dinner for 2 at 32 South Bar and Grill.  Fifth prize is a 2-night stay at Bauer’s Dam Resort for 4 plus $100 for use at the resort.

Businesses, clubs, and individuals donated a large number of raffle baskets which generated additional revenue.

Complimentary burgers, brats, and hot dogs were served during the event and Chill Billy’s band provided the entertainment for the large crowd who attended the event.

The snowmobile clubs will share the proceeds which will be used for trail grooming programs. According to a club spokesperson, “Even though snowmobile clubs receive state reimbursement for a portion of the trail preparation and grooming, it doesn’t come close to covering the expenses of maintaining snowmobile trails.  When snowmobile clubs reach their cap, all grooming is done at the expense of the clubs. Fundraisers such as this help provide the needed funding to ensure trails are in great condition for local residents and visitors alike.”

Club officials expressed their gratitude for the support from Track Side, Chef Luke, the World Championship Derby Complex, Pike’s Pine Isle Lodge, Stone Harbor Marina, SpiritView Lakeside, 32 South Bar and Grill, Bauer’s Dam Resort, all the establishments who helped sell tickets, and the many volunteers who helped make this event a success.
